Happy New Year! Kick start 2016 with a power breakfast. This breakfast is wonderfully fresh and contains a bunch of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants so you can kick of this first day of the new year.
But what is Baobab? Baobab is a large tree which grows mainly in Africa. The powder that we can buy, comes from the fruit growing hanging from the tree.
Okay trees in Africa, I understand, but what is it good for? The fruit contains lots of vitamin C, fiber, magnesium, potassium and calcium. Making it the perfect smoothie-boosters!
Will be enough for 2 servings.
Chia pudding with baobab smoothie
The day before or 1h before
1/4 cup chia seeds
1 cup of plant-based milk (almond, oat, soybean, etc.)
1 tablespoon gojiberries
Whisk together and let stand so that chia swells.
Smoothie
1 clementine (or half-orange)
1 banana
2 teaspoons baobabpulver
1/2 cup herbal milk (almond, oat, soybean, etc.)
Mix everything into a creamy mass!
Serving
2 kiwi or other fruit
4 walnuts or other nuts
Add chian in a bowl or glass and pour over the smoothie. Serve with sliced fruit and some crushed nuts.
